(Le 10 mai 2007- Québec) - Studio Virtuel Concept (SVC), studio de Québec spécialisé dans la réalisation d’effets spéciaux pour le film et la télévision, est fier d’annoncer la sortie québécoise du documentaire Dinosaures 3D : Géants de la Patagonie, le 15 juin 2007 au cinéma Imax de Québec.

La réalisation de l’ensemble des effets spéciaux du documentaire a été confiée au studio de Québec par la maison de production Sky High Entertainment. Ce projet d’envergure internationale consistait à donner vie aux plus imposants dinosaures connus à ce jour : les Argentinosaures et Giganotosaures (plus gros que le fameux T–Rex) qui évoluaient il y a 90 millions d’années sur le territoire que l’on nomme aujourd’hui Argentine.



La production des effets visuels pour le documentaire a amené Studio Virtuel Concept (SVC) à déployer tout un nouveau savoir faire, à la fine pointe de la technologie, afin de réaliser ce qui est déjà décrit par plusieurs critiques américains comme un des meilleurs film sur écran géant avec effets de profondeurs 3D jamais présenté. Pour ce faire, le studio de Québec a dû dans un premier temps travailler en étroite collaboration avec le célèbre paléontologue Rodolfo Coria afin de déterminer l’apparence extérieure et le comportement social des dinosaures géants. Une équipe de plus de 30 artisans a participé à la création d’une dizaine de dinosaures et à l’intégration de ces créatures virtuelles dans les superbes images tournées en Patagonie.
